Township Police Department will be administering an entrance level exam
for the position of police officer. Eligibility requirements:
1. Must be a citizen of the United States;
Possess An Associates Degree or have successfully completed at least 2
years (60 credits) of college at an accredited college or university
(“C” average minimum); or
Applicants must have successfully completed the Basic Course for Police
Officers as prescribed by the NJ Police Training Commission; or
Applicants must have served a minimum of 2 years of active duty service
and been honorably discharged from a branch of the U.S. military.
3. Must be of good moral character.
4. Must be at least 21 but not more than 35 years of age as of the date
of the application, except as provided by law in the case of veterans.
5. Must not have been convicted of a crime.
6. Must possess a valid NJ driver’s license without suspension or
revocation within the last 5 years.
applicant shall undergo a written exam as administered by the NJ State
Assoc. of Chiefs of Police.
The exam will be
on 12/13/12 at 6:00 p.m. at the Wallkill Valley Reg. High School, 10
Grumm Rd., Hamburg (Hardyston Twp.), NJ, for up to 250 applicants.
must pick up an application at Hardyston Twp. Police Headquarters, 149B
Wheatsworth Rd., Hamburg (Hardyston Twp.), NJ, and return the completed
application to police headquarters by 8:00 a.m. on 12/10/12.
The exam fee of
$60 will be paid only by money order or certified check payable to
Township of Hardyston and must be remitted with the completed
and exam fee submitted after 8:00 a.m., 12/10/12, will not be accepted.
Only the first 250 applications will be accepted. The Township of
