On November 16, 2013, officers of the Monticello, NY Police
Department were handling a serious motor vehicle accident when a
firefighter approached one of them. He advised that the mayor
showed up to the scene and appeared to be drunk.
Officers spoke with the mayor and, ultimately, arrested him for
suspicion of DWI.
During the subsequent processing, the mayor is caught on video
throwing a tantrum. He threatens officers, breaks a clock, and
is just all-around belligerent.
The news report, unfortunately, leaves out the part where the mayor
refers to white people as crackers and asks one of the officers to
call him the n-word. That part can be found on the complete,
posted on Youtube.
In the news video, the mayor's attorney, of course, attacks the officers.
He also, in all his expertise, claims that he doesn't believe the
mayor was drunk based on the mayor's speech.
Hey counselor, your client acted like a buffoon. He repeatedly
used a racial slur, he threatened police officers, he smashed a
clock, and he went on several tirades throughout the 90-minute raw
video. So, our question to you is this: if he wasn't drunk, is
this how he normally acts?
