Press Release from
PBA Information Officer James Ryan
On Tuesday December 9, 2008 the New Jersey State Police Benevolent
Association with 33,000 members will once again sponsor their annual
toy drive for foster children. The event is scheduled to take place
at Royal Albert’s Palace at 1050 King Georges Road in Fords, NJ.
The annual event is held in conjunction with our
state meeting. This is the seventh year the New Jersey State PBA will be
participating in Foster and Adoptive Family Services program called A
Gift for Every Child. Each year the PBA has been the largest toy donor
to the program with over 5,000 toys donated annually.
This year’s collaborative effort will help bring
the Foster and Adoptive Family Service program closer towards its goal
of a gift for every child in foster care. Currently, there are nearly
10,000 children in foster care in the state of New Jersey. The toys
collected during this gift drive will help to provide some holiday cheer
for a considerable number of these children.
While the toy drive is sponsored by the PBA anyone
can drop off a new toy at the event from 10am to 11am.
