Rally Being Held

Police and Law Enforcement News
Monday, June 25, 2007 8:40 a.m.

Mayor Rocco Palmieri

(NJLawman.com)   The saga in Fairfield continues.

Sergeant Marty Brennan, a twenty-one-year veteran of the Fairfield Police Department, is still fighting to keep his job.

His brother officers from PBA Local #81 are holding a rally tonight to protest the entire fiasco, and they need support from other officers.

As you recall, Sgt. Brennan was reportedly asked to remove an angry resident from a council meeting and did not do so fast enough for Mayor Palmieri.  When Sgt. Brennan and a second officer were finally able to get the resident to calm down and begin walking out, the mayor made another comment and was ordered by Sgt. Brennan to stop and allow he and his fellow officer to do their jobs.

This apparently did not sit well, and Sgt. Brennan is facing termination.

The rally is being held at the Fairfield Municipal Complex (See Mapquest Map) located at 230 Fairfield Road in Fairfield, New Jersey.

For more information, you may visit the website set up to support  Sgt. Marty Brennan at www.supportmarty.com.
