Bounty Placed on
New Jersey Officers
Police and Law Enforcement News
Sunday, January 16, 2011  11:58 a.m.

There have been scattered reports saying the Bloods gang has placed a bounty on New Jersey law enforcement officers.  This was apparently done in retaliation for statewide efforts made by New Jersey officers in the manhunt for Jahmell Crockam, the suspect in Friday's murder of Lakewood Police Officer Christopher Matlosz.

Initial information pertaining to this threat began circulating on Saturday through informal law enforcement channels.  Now, an article on this development has appeared in today's New York Post:

New Jersey gang members have been ordered to assassinate cops in retaliation for the massive manhunt underway for one its members who allegedly murdered an officer, according to a report.

The Bloods are responding to the multi-state dragnet that has been set up to find Jahmell Crockam, 19, after he allegedly killed Lakewood, NJ officer Christopher Matlosz Friday, a source told WNBC/Ch. 4 last night.

Law officers on and off duty should take appropriate precautions.

Please forward and post this information in all law enforcement facilities. grants permission to reprint this article.
