Sunday, August 15, 2010  11:15 p.m.

The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission has eliminated the use of vehicle registration decals for motorcycle, commercial, and trailers.

The exact text of their notice is as follows:

Effective August 1, 2010, the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) will no longer issue registration decals for motorcycles, commercial vehicles and personal and commercial trailers.  The MVC previously discontinued the use of registration decals for passenger vehicles in October 2004.

Customers who recently received decals for their vehicles may discard them or remove them from their license plates, as long as the license plates are not damaged. MVC-issued decals that have been lost do not need to be replaced.
