Four officers with the Lakewood Police Department were shot this morning.

The incident apparently occurred during the execution of a search warrant early this morning at 1154 Mackenzie Court.

According to initial reports, one officer was shot in the face, one in the foot, and the two others were hit in the torso but the rounds were stopped by the officers' body armor.

Lakewood Township is located at the northern part of Ocean County.  The police department runs at about 120 to 130 officers and serves a twenty-four square mile town of approximately 70,000 residents.

We will be posting updates throughout the day.

Keep these officers in your prayers.
