Crown Vic Gone,
Now What?

NJLawman.com
Police and Law Enforcement News
Monday, January 30, 2012  2:38 a.m.

On September 15, 2011 at exactly 12:30 p.m. the last Ford Crown Victoria rolled off the assembly line at the St. Thomas Assembly Plant in Ontario, Canada.  Employees both swooned over and mourned the final Crown Vic which has been the flagship vehicle to fleets of so many different industries.

Some departments stocked up a supply of final-year Crown Vics so they could let other agencies go through the trial-and-error headaches of identifying the law enforcement staple car.

Other agencies are kicking tires and pouring over auto review websites for what will serve as the trusted car for the next generation.

NJLawman.com put together a list of the eight vehicles being considered throughout the country as a replacement to the Crown Victoria.

None have yet been crowned the successor to the Crown Victoria, so we'll have to wait and see.  With the differing needs of differing agencies, it's possible that we have seen the last of the one-size-fits-all patrol car.
