Fled in a vehicle which has already been recovered.

Franklin Kincey is wanted for murder and should be considered armed and extremely dangerous.

Wanted for the Murder of a
New Jersey Corrections Officer

Breaking News: SUSPECT ARRESTED
On Friday, January 13, 2006 Franklin Kincey was arrested in Edison by members of the U.S. Marshals New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force, Edison and New Jersey State Police, who burst into Kincey's hotel room using a hotel pass-key.

According to reports, Kincey had arranged for a prostitute and was waiting for her at the time of his arrest.

Kincey is being held at the Hudson County Jail.

Sunday, December 11, 2005 3:00 a.m.
 

Suspect: Franklin Kincey
What Happened: Corrections Officers Samuel Broughton and Brandon Holmes stopped off in a Jersey City bar after work.  At some point during the evening an argument took place but ended without incident.

At a little after three in the morning, Corrections Officers Broughton and Holmes left the bar and were walking to their car when gunfire erupted. 

Officer Broughton was struck in the back and died a short time later.  Officer Holmes was hit in the leg and is recovering.

Neither officer was armed at the time of the incident.

The suspect fled from the area in a vehicle which has since been recovered.

About Officer Broughton: Officer Samuel J. Broughton Jr., 45, was a lifelong Jersey City resident.

He was a corrections officer with the Hudson County Department of Corrections in New Jersey.

Officer Broughton left behind a son, a daughter, his father,  a brother, a sister,  a grandchild, a niece and two nephews.
