New Jersey State
Trooper
Bertram T. Zimmerman III |
A large
turnout of law enforcement officers is expected when Middleton
Dunmore, 37, is sentenced for his role in the death of New Jersey
State Trooper Bertram Zimmerman III.
The sentencing
date is set for Thursday, June 8, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. and will be
held at the
Cape May Courthouse in Cape May County.
Trooper
Zimmerman died from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident
back in February of 2004. He was responding to the scene of a
robbery when the accident took place.
Middleton
Dunmore was later arrested for that robbery and several others.
Dunmore was charged with the death of Trooper Zimmerman under the
Felony Murder Doctrine.
Under the plea
agreement reached last week, Dunmore will have to serve 85% of a
30-year sentence.
In support of
Trooper Zimmerman's wife Denise and other family, many officers are
expected to attend the actual sentencing, and all are invited.
Denise
Zimmerman told NJLawman.com "the prosecutor is welcoming any
uniformed officers at the sentencing."
We urge
everyone without prior commitments to show up and support our fallen
brother officer.
