First, some quick background.
On Wednesday, March 8, 2006 Police
Officer Matthew Melchionda, 31, died in the line of duty from
injuries sustained in a serious motor vehicle accident.
Officer Melchionda was responding to assist detectives with an
investigation.
On Monday, March 13, 2006, Matthew was
laid to rest and honored with a full inspector's funeral.
Below is a link sent to us from
numerous site visitors.
A New Jersey-based newspaper, The
Courier News, assembled a photo and audio essay about the funeral
that is truly one of the finest we have ever seen.
One warning. You might lose it
watching this.
Take a look.
