JERSEY
CITY - Jersey City officers were interviewing a woman who had come to
the West District Police Station with her three children to file a
complaint of a domestic violence incident on Wednesday evening.
Apparently, the complaint she was filing concerned an incident that
had taken place with her husband Corey Harley.
Harley had also voluntarily come to
the station.
At about 7:20 p.m., when it was
announced by officers that Harley was going to be arrested, he
produced a 9 millimeter handgun and began firing on the officers.
Several officers returned fire
striking Harley several times.
When the smoke had cleared, two of
the Jersey City officers had been hit.
The entire incident took place in
front of the man's wife and children who were fortunately not struck
in the exchange of gunfire.
According to NJ.com, “a sergeant was
shot in the stomach and a rookie police officer in the back.”
Both officers were rushed to Jersey
City Medical Center. Initially, their conditions were not being
released, but they both since have been upgraded to stable condition.
The piece of excrement who fired upon
the officers is also listed in stable condition if you care.
