IRVINGTON – First and foremost, early
indications seem to suggest that the officer is going to be okay.
Yesterday, December 21, 2005, an
Irvington police officer was shot in the arm after responding to a
call. There are conflicting reports as to what the initial call may
have been.
Some media outlets are reporting that
it involved a man exposing himself, while others are saying that the
call involved an armed or attempted armed robbery.
The officer, whose name has not yet
been released, was taken to University Hospital in Newark where he
was being “treated for non-life threatening injuries.”
The suspect was also shot and taken
into custody. NJLawman.com
